Ok, im starting my post again with my recent holiday trip to Bangkok with my friends. It was supposed to be a research trip to Chulalongkorn University but the plan was canceled last minute. Since we already bought our flight ticket, we just proceed to go there.
We depart from Penang Airport on Monday evening at around 5:10pm and arrived in Bangkok International Airport at 6:45 (Bangkok time). Came out the airport and was stormed by taxi drivers. After some nego we manage to get a van that took us to Asha Guest House at Saphan Kwai for 1500 baht. We arrived there after 45 minutes journey. While checking in, we had a little chat with the hostel owner, a very helpful chap and was told that actual fare from the airport to is only 500baht! There goes our RM100..
Its already 830pm and we’re starving. After settle things up, we went out to find a nearest Muslim restaurant. Was lost at first but managed to get some help from the locals. This restaurant is called Abu Ibrahim, located in front of Pradiphat hotel.

After done eating, we went back to the guest house with this little cab called thuk-thuk. Izan came out with the idea that we hire 1 thuk-thuk with 7 ppl in it (include driver). The others refuse at first. After convinced by the driver, all of us hop on to it. huhu
The next day, we walk from guest house to Saphan Kwai BTS station. Took us 15minutes to get there. Bought all day pass for BTS. First stop was to the Victory monument.

It was in the middle of the road, so i only managed to take shots from the BTS station.
Next.. MBK shopping centre!
We spent most of the time in MBK surveying shops selling cheaper stuffs.. At night, we walk to Pratunam Market. Qalif and I bought some nice cheap clothes. I don’t take any shots that night because too busy bargaining for discount huhu..
The next day continues when we woke up quite late due to tiredness. Went for cruising along Chao Phraya river.
We stopped at Tha Chang then walk to the Grand Palace.
Our journey continues to the Standing Budha Temple.
We couldn’t go to Sleeping Budha temple cuz theres a sermon goin on. So we headed to MBK to do our final shopping. Everyone starts to count their pennies, really tight budget at this time..haihs.. So I went to a money changer in MBK and start buying stuffs for my love ones. I didn’t get anything for myself. For me, the journey is already a big experience. Until 830pm, we headed back to Abu Ibrahim restaurant for dinner, then back to the guest house.
Final day in Bangkok, woke up late..again.. took our baggages to the lobby and waited for taxi taking us to Hua Lamphong railway station. We walked around the station and took some shots.
At 1.30pm, we boarded the train and continue our journey back to Malaysia. The journey took almost 24hours to reach Butterworth train station. I have to say that this trip is a good experience for me. Looking forward to travel to other countries. Last pix from me..
